  1. One night two men were coming from a house from playing cards at two o'clock at night, and they were walking very quickly. As they were walking along the road they heard a whistle out in the sea, and they heard it again, and the stopped and listened. They walked on until they came to one man's home. When they were parting one man asked the other "will you come to my house and sleep there to night, and the other man said "no I am not a bit afraid; So he lit his pipe, and walked the Road. He was not gone far when he heard a walk of a man behind him, so he looked back to see who was coming. He saw nothing. At last he got to his own gap he heard a prancing in the Road with nail shoes, and he saw nothing. He went home as quickly as he could.
