  1. Our farm is situated about two miles from Shercock. It consists of fourteen Irish acres. There was two acres of it set under potato crop this year.
    My Father prepares the ground, first of all he ploughs the ground, then he harrows and cultivates it, after that he cross-ploughs and harrows it again. Next he opens the drills puts manure on them, then we drop the potatoes putting them a foot apart. Then my father closes the drills with a double-plough. Long ago the people used to set their potatoes in ridges with a spade.
    In summer my father moulds and sprays the potatoes. Some people long ago, who could not
