    his house the clogs had vanished and in their place was a pot of gold. The old man was over joyed. Some time later he went for a walk and he was never seen again. Poor people never wore clogs only the rich people could afford them. The poor peoples shoes were a piece of a plank shaped out into the sole of a shoe and tied around their feet with cord.
    People long time ago never wore shoes. Children did not wear shoes until they were ten years old. The shoes that they wore were called clogs because they were made of wood. The carpenters made the soles and the uppers were made of leather
