   branch to Abbeyfeale before the present trunk-road, leading from Castleisland to Abbeyfeale, via Hendley's Bridge and Feales bridge, was made.] There were no fences marking this old Loughfouder road but it can still be traced along by the river. Michael Tobiu's grandfather of Loughdfouder was the steward during the making of it, from Knockachur to Knockbrack. ----------------- The New Loughfouder Road. The present road was made about sixty-eight years ago. It had a foundation of bogdeal and bushes. The End.

2. A Ford

   There was a ford in the river Abha Bheag to facilitate people crossing from Loughfouder to Meenleitrim which is on the opposide bank,
   The ford consisted of block stones about three feet high and about a foot square. The stones were placed about two feet apart.
   This ford crossed that part of the river that runs by Michael Tobin's land in Loughfouder.
