    of his voice: "Give it to him, boys." While shouting, Saunders was making violent motions with his hands to make it appear that he was very angry and furious on account of the mean theft that had been carried out.
    This was clear evidence against Crowe in the minds of the hungry men and it made them twice as angry as they had been at first. So they started beating Crowe again with renewed energy in spite of the poor man's protests that he was innocent. They nearly killed him before they let him go.
