    The pension having reached us- sure it caused our hearts to trob.
    For fear we would be cut off from our weekly sum five bob.
    But thank God we all received and our hearts are now not down
    And the name of some of the applicants I'll give you near this town

    When first the news it reached them- sure it filled their hearts with glee.
    Pocketing their silver coins they never thought to see
    In crowds they did assemble here outside the courthouse door.
    To get their weekly pension books they never saw before
    III
    The first one that I noticed the truth I'll tell to you
    Was that grey haired 3 score and ten years, who many a horse did shoe.
    From Brosna he absconded or at least of late did quit
    He's living now in the iron house, that's Dennis Lane, the smith.

    His darling wife then made a rush to receive her cash the same
    And she says to Mr. Humphries "I'm the wife of Denis Lane,
