   Many years ago in a village in Co. Cork lived a woman who had a large family of girls. She was not pleased as she had no boys and said "I would rather see the devil than another girl". Some time after, a boy arrived at the house and he had a cloven foot. When he was a few years old he became the terror of all the small children, he took a fiendish delight in seeing them hurt. There were some steps up to a store near where he lived, and he would entice small children to climb up the steps with him and throw them down to see them hurt.
   When he went to school he was hated by Masters and pupils, he had no companion and was always roaming about alone. If there was a litter of pups to be found or kittens he would take them out and hang the lot. In later years he took to killing all the fowl. When women would open their fowl houses in the morning they would find all their fowl with their heads cut off.
   The police sergeant was so tired of warning his people about him that he watched him and one night he followed him and caught him killing lambs with a club. The sergeant got him sent to a reformatory and every body
