Again it was swept off but this time he told Séamus to keep up and hold tight. The priest then took off the white surplice and told Seamus to drop it down off the horse's tail and "let them have that." When this was done the whirlwind abated and they came home safe and sound.It appears the old man, Séamus, had a fancy for the fair sex and Fr Tuohill must have mentioned the matter to him. The following is a portion of the answer made to the priest:'A Shéamuis mhic Dhonnchaidh Thuathail
Ná tabhair-se ar dtuathal mé (LHAVER) (?)
Dá gcastaoi orm bruinneal in' uaigneas
Do luigh[t]finn go suanmhar léi LOITINN
Tá mo shúile le feartaibh an Uain Ghil
Nár chuireas aon tuagh sa chlé ?
Bhí Anna ar buille chomh mór liom
Nuair a d'imthig a buachaill léi.'
Anna - the priest's sister who went off with some man.
By the way the priest, Fr. Tuohil was later suspended.
On another occasion he replied in English to a request by Billy Broder's (?) wife for the loan of a car. The old man had sent earlier to Broder for the loan of a(continues on next page)
