  1. The best mower in this part of the country was the late Johnny Savage. He was the leading mower where ever he went. Any farmer, who, in the days of old had a good deal of hay to cut and save, was always anxious to get Johnny to do the mowing. I heard the story told that he cut an acre of hay down in Cordal, and afterwards walked to Killarney races and was there before the first race was run.
