  2. Mounds of earth are to be seen in Jeremiah O'Sullivan's farm in Farranamanagh and tradition tells that this was once a monastery. It was from it the townland got its name Farranamanagh or "The land of theMonks".

  3. In Batt O'Sullivan's farm there is a ruin of an old church which was founded by St. Falinga the patron of that townland. It was afterwards used as a burying-ground.
