  1. Jim and Tom Sullivan Killeen often travelled to Caherciveen fair, a distance of thirty five miles and home again in a day. They also walked to Kenmare and from that to Knocknagree and home through Castleisland without being tired. Often this feat was performed twice or three times a week.
    A postman named Jerry Mahoney used to walk from the Castleisland Post Office to Currens a distance of five miles in an hour delivering the post.
    There were some very fast walkers in the townland of Killeen. Patrick Daly, a tailor, used
