They then get a stick of holly, and dress it up a tie the wren on to it they travel from house to house for miles around when they retire in the evening they divide the days gathering until each has the same amount, they go to the public houses there and enjoy themselves after the day.
    St Brigids Day
    St Brigids day falls on the first day of February. St Brigids day was far better in the olden days than what it is nowadays. On the night before, when it gets dark all the young people of every district dress up and go around with a "Biddy" of which they make out of a turnip
