  1. Once upon upon a time when Lord Ventry was marching to Tralee to vote for Anti Homerulers. Father Irving of Castlegregory saw them coming and he saddled his horse and rode from the Presbytery to the road and when a waggon of voters were passing he put the spurs to his horse and jumped the waggon and rode like the wind to Aughacasla to help the people to turn them back to Dingle. The people filled their stockings with stones and chaced the voters back across Connor pass to Dingle.
