  1. While Daniel O'Connell was in London many poor people faced him looking for money or alms or some hep for the sake of God.
    They knew Daniel O'Connell would not fail them because he was renowned all over Europe. It was said that anything he ever took in hands did not fail.
    One of these days he was sitting near the fire taking his ease when he was told that there was a poor man at the door waiting for a word with him. Daniel said to send him in.
