There are many fields around Tralee with forts situated in them. These fields are mostly called "Fields of the Forts" or "Fairy Forts".
In a farm - house in our neighbourhood is a big stone commonly called a "Scratching - Stone". This stone came in very handy for the cows when they wanted to scratch themselves.
