   Once there lived on Keath hill two giants and they were the biggest ever seen. One day they were sitting on the hillside. One of them took up a few small stones and began playing Jack-stones, The other man saw a big rock and it weighed 23 tones and he said to the other man "Would you play with that stone" and he said he would not. The giant took the rock and sent it 13 miles, The stone is three miles outside Ballaghadereen.

   There is a story told about two men of the
   McLoughlins that whent across the lake in a boat
   to Killaraght to look at cattle they had grazing.
   When they came to the shore to go home their
   boat was gone and as there was no bridge across
   the lake at Cuppanagh they had to walk around
   the shore to a passage where Allens in to-day.
   They went up the avenue and when they came
   out on the gate and turned for home a big
