  1. There are "fairy forts" in the school district. There is one on top of John McDermott's hill, and another in Pat Gallagher's field in Carrownacreevy, John Mc Dermott's fort is situated in CLetty. The forts are sometimes called rath. They are not in view of one another but still they are not far away from other.
    There two forts are circular in shape around the fort in McDermott's field has an earthen fence around it; but the fort in Gallagher's field is surrounded by blackthorn bushes and it is said that there is a ghost there.
    Tradition tells us that the Thuals De Dannanns built those forts which was their only place of refuge when they were being
