    the butter-spade. It is put into the timber butter-dish. Cold water is poured on so as to wash off all traces of the milk. The salt is put on in proportion to the amount of butter, then it is clapped and is then ready for use.
    Buttermilk is boiled with oatmeal and sugar which is a good cure for the cold. It is also used for making bread and for drinking.
