  1. When the cricket screeches sharply cold weather may be expected. If the sky is red in the east it is the sign of rain. When the sun goes down red in good weather it is the sign that another good day may be expected.
    If there is a ring around the moon the weather will be bad and wet.
    A rainbow in the morning is the morning is a sailor's warning
    A rainbow at night is the sailor's delight
    Black clouds are signals for rain. If the stars twinkle frost may be expected "O welcome the cold blast from the north, but lie low when the east wind blows". The north wind brings snow. West wind brings rain.
