If a person went out with a lamp and it lit, they would also take away the butter. On St Bridget's day the people make cross themselves and hang them up over the picture of the sacred Heart in honour of St. Bridget. on May day the children gather flowers and shake them round the steps of the door an in the kitchen and rooms
