- The domestic animals of our farm are cattle, horses, sheep cows and pigs.When driving the cows into a field we say Hí-on Hí-on and the same to the calves.We have many other different calls for our animals and fowls "Hurrish" for the pigs "Suck-Suck" for the calves "Bathy-Bathy" for the geese. "Yeb-yeb" for the turkeys. "Weschy-Weschy". for the ducks "schuch - schuch" for the hens and "[piche?]-piche for the horses.The cows house is roofed with corrigated iron it is general called a Byre.Our cows are tied with a chain round their neck. Sometimes when cows break into meadows we put a rope round there head and on their front leg we call this tying a crumnos. We buy these ropes.They say it is lucky if you put a goat or an ass in among the stock.There are old traditions about cows. Long ago before sunrise witches would change themselves into hares and go and suck the cows.There was a witch living in the corner of my father's farm and she used to(continues on next page)
