  1. "Local Fairs."
There are many fairs held during the year, such as, Sligo, Ballisodare, Collooney, Boyle, Tubbercurry and many others. Fairs are not always held in towns, they are sometimes held in country places, such as, Farnaharpy, Carrick-na-gat, Dromore West, and several others.
On a morning of a fair some buyers go to meet the farmers with their cattle and they buy them if they are good enough.
In some towns the fairs are held in the streets and in others they are held in fair-greens.
When an animal is sold, the seller gives back some of the money and this is called "Luck-money."
