    got no water: they then tried the north side and water gushed up. They took the water to Mrs. Gilmartin who drank it, and was cured.
    In recent years the owner to the field Martin Moffit razed the wall for cows to drink out of it: but a few afterwards he fell vey ill. A neighbour advised him that he had done wrong and he promised that if he got better he would rebuild the wall. He did recover and he had the wall rebuilt. He is now however among the dead.
    The last member of Michael Luke Gilmartin's family known locally as 'Mary Luke'; died about five years ago;she was then about 82 years of age. She left no family and the farm near the Holy Well is situated passed into the hands of her husband's nephew one Roger Kerrigan the present occupier.
