Where our old ancestors always have been,
So let us go back and take up our nights lodgings,
At Calín na n-Jabhar where there's plenty poteen.
When I heard the goat speaking my heart commenced heating,
Said I 'tis a spirit called "Petticoat Loose",
Or something contrary that came into Kerry,
Says I to myself Im done wearing shoes,
Then we returned and stayed there till next morning,
And during the night I spelt on his back,
When the day was dawing he leaped for the corner,
And towards Castleisland he went in a crack.
To the town of Tralee he next took his ramble,
I'm sure he was anxious to see some more sport,
And outside the town he met a Highlander,
And up with his horns and tore all his coat,
The Highlander roared out and bowled "milemurder",
Calling the police to put him to jail,
But the more he shouted the faster he legged it,
And over the "Basin" and gave them "Leg Bail".
When he jumped in the "Basin" I fell on the footpath,
And away went the goat and I saw him no more,
I suppose he is gone to where he belongs to,
I hope he will steer to some far distant shore
