    There still remain about five ruins of old houses and the school has been converted into a dwelling-house.
    A great many boys and girls and sometimes whole families emigrated from this town-land to America many years ago. it is a very fertile land and is suitable for tilling, and feeding cattle.
    There are two woods in Carrowmorris known as the Carrowmorris plantation.
    There is but one river which flows through the WEstern portion.
    There are two lakes known as the Baile Glas Lake and Poll Mór.
    At one time turf was cut around the latter and it is said a phantom-horse often appeared on it's still waters during the Summer time.
