  1. About 60 years ago a journey man carpenter lived about here.He was known as Mallackey. This man told Michael bawley, barrowmally, he never ate a bit of butter from he was 30 years.
    The reason he gave was, he was one day working in Kilgallons near Mrs Mostyns and Givna Templeboy, he had a bench in the kitchen and worked there. Just above the kitchen there was a pantry, and here there was a woman churning. After some time, he looked up and saw as she was churning a human hand and arm dip into the churn and lift out the butter. From that day he never ate a bit of butter.
