  1. At the beginning of August we had a very severe thunder storm. The people were terrified. About three o'clock the clouds became black and the thunder claps were heard. The people said it was the worst thunder storm in living memory. It continued until about seven o'clock and the people went to bed and said it was all over about four o clock in the morning it started again but it was not so severe as the evening before. It done alot of harm a flash went through a wall of a house above in Doon it knocked down a monument in Kille-henny church-yard. Winds of hay were burned up below near Bally- Bunion. Stones were removed from a sandhill road wall. Roads were also damaged and motor-cars and other
