  1. (continued from previous page)
A man called Barney Reilly (a local travelling tailor) was sent for on the spot,
Now styled the porridge tailor or more meal upon the pot
To make this ‘new Sir Single’ of which we’re bound to brag
It stands for either frock or coat, for body coat or tag
His patterns were bias, he made it like a saddle
T’was high above & high below and hollowed in the middle,
‘Now’ he says this new construction shall be the wearer's friend
To cast the winter’s storm off Peter's ‘double end’
His wife upon that moment, wished him ‘well to wear’
Saying Peter auch, a gra, machree, now sit down upon this chair
Now to conclude & finish and on it say no more
We wish him health & comfort till the last of it is wore.
