    I was coming off my Kaly (céilidhe) one night in January 1932 from a friends house...

    and three hail Marys and threw it at the thing. It disappeared. I got home about daylight and wet three towels with sweat before I went to bed. The next day I went to Father Briody Ligga[?] and told him the story. He said it was very likely something evil and gave me holy water to shake around me if I saw it again.
    I did not go out late for a long time after this for I felt very nervous and every thing that stirred in the ditches I looked to see was the white thing coming after me again but Thank God it did not return.
