    A man lived down near Gorvagh who had the cure of warts...

    A man lived down near Gorvagh who had the cure of warts. His name was Thomas Cannon (Canning). A number of people used to come to this man and he cured all of them. Some of them were very bad cases and their hands and neck were covered with a mass of warts. He also used to cure [blank space] on cattle. When you went to this man with warts he took three straws and rubbed them on the warts. Then he knelt down and prayed for a long time and he pressed the three straws into soft wet manure and left them there to rot. As the straws were rotting, the warts
