  1. St Stephen's day falls on the 26th of December. Some boys dress themselves up in old torn clothes and nine or ten join together and they go from house to house dancing playing music and gathering money and when the day is over the divide the money between them and sometimes they put all the money together and buy a football.
    The song they sing is
Up with the kettle and down with the pan
Give us money to bury the wren
The custom of lighting 12 candles is referred to by Eddie Moran Drimmeen Cloone.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
