  1. There was once a man who went to Scotland and he was called the black thief. He met a man and a woman one day on the road & the man told the black thief that he would shoot him if he was not able to steal the sheet from under him & his wife at night without his knowing it. "Well" said the black thief "it is a hard task but I will do my best.
    The black thief got a big thick pole and put clothes and a hat on it. He threw it down the chimney of the man's house. The man was in his bed but not asleep & he fired a shot He thought that he had the black thief shot.
    His wife told him to get up and bury the man before morning. The Man got up out of bed to bury the black thief as he thought himself
