hear it. She only laughed. In a few days afterwards, she heard the same music. A wise man came in, one morning and she told him the strange story. "Is'nt that child he swore getting like a little witch Bring in a creel of turf until I put down a good fire. They said in Irish that they would burn her. They put down a big fire. Up jumped the child out on the door and assumed the shape of a white rabbit. The man took his gun with him, and a grey-hound and they followed in pursuit across the moor.
When the dogs came close on her she jumped as far as the old ruins he saw an old hag sitting on a stone and the dogs were afraid to go near her. Her eyes were mad as fire. The man took his gun and shot her dead.
When the story was heard the missing child was got in a gipsy's camp.
