    The "Wran" the "Wran" the King of all birds
    On Stephens Day she was caught in the firs
    Although she was small her family was great
    Rise up landlady and give us a treat.
    We chased her up and we chased her down,
    We chased her up to Buzzardstown
    We walked on sand and yellow clay
    We found this Wran upon our way.
    We split her skull and we broke her toe
    And this is the way the "Wran Boys" go
    So up with the "kittle" and down with the pan
    A penny or twopence to bury the Wran.
    The "Wran" the "Wran" the King of all birds
    On Stephens Day she was caught in the firs
    We chased her up and we chased down
    We chased her into a brandy shop
    We tipped her head in a barrell of beer
    We wish you all a Happy New Year
    So up with the "kittle" and down with the pan
    A penny or tuppence to bury the "Wran"
