    Hill there are several caves penetrating for a considerable distance into the interior. Within the innermost of these caves, tradition says, some troop of Hugh O'Neill's horse lie in an enchanted slumber, awaiting the hour whe they shall be called forth to strike a blow against the Saxon "for the freedom of Ireland." The legend also relates how a peasant who accidentally discovered an opening into the cave never known before (or since), went in, and suddenly came on the armed band, each man asleep with his hand on his horse's side. The nearest clansmen raised his head and asked in Irish, "Is it time yet?" The startled peasant, too much frightened to reply, turned and fled; whereupon the gallowglass laid down his head, and recomposed himself to sleep for a few more centuries.
