  1. Once upon a time a King gave a great banquet to his lords and many others. When everybody was sitting around the table, one of the guests said, "If it would please your majesty, we have everything in abundance but water." The doctors and ladies were in the Royal Palace. So the King wanted to please them, and he sent out his fair-haired daughter which was the nicest. She took one of the lovely men with her.
    When she reached the well she lifted the water, and on leaving the well she forgot to put the lid on. She was covered up with the water. The man tried to pull her out. But all was in vain. The water flowed round the castle. When the young man came in, the King was
