  1. Long, long ago, there lived a beggar woman. This beggar woman was very poor.
    A doctor lived nearby. He paid a visit to her one day and said, "Can you not make a living" "No says she." Well I'll tell you a good job of how to cure cows!
    Every cow that you hear tell of being sick, put a little grain of ashes in a tin and go to the sick cow. Shake the ashes over her and whisper into her ear. "If you mend, you mend, and devil a wan cares whether you do or not"
    The summer arrived and the cows all took packed stomachs. The word went high and low that the beggar woman could cure. They sent for her and she came. She shook some
