  1. About two hundred years ago a man named Pat Kavana went to Owenboy to cut bushes. The place where he was going to cut the bushes was called Cnaug na Fannauge. When he was returning with the bushes along the river, the pebbles began to jump out of the river and hit him. A man named James Carey saw him and told him to leave the bushes where he got them. He did so and returned home safe.
Cnaug na Fannauge is situated on the south about a quarter of a mile from the school.
