    But with a rope. This rope is genrally home manufacture, made from dried rushes. While milking cows if there is music in the byre [sic] they will give more milk.
    We have got over forty hens and four ducks. When calling these animals and fowl we use different expressions. When calling cows we say chey, calves suck, hens chuke, ducks tweet and the cat pussy. Each of these are said four or five times. The dog is generally called by his name or by whistling. Most people set some eggs each year so as to have more young fowl. When setting hen eggs they mark them for fear of other hens laying in the nest and you would not know which eggs to take away.
