Once upon a time a man names Thornton lived in Lucan; he was a very rich man but one thing annoyed him, he was awakened every morning by crows chattering in an old elm tree in front of the house. At last he could bear it no longer, and so he told his servant that if the tree was not taken away before morning he would sack him. The servant bought a lot of bird lime and spread it on the branches and when the crows landed on it, they stuck
