- There are many tricks played on Hallow eve night. One of them is a trick with a dish of water.A dish is got, and it is half-filled with water. Then a threepenny piece is put into the water. A boy is then blind-folded, and his hands are tied behind his back. He is then told to try and pick the money up with his mouth. It is very hard to do. I tried it several times but I could not get the money.
