    to the church in his car. When the marriage would be over three horse-men would start from the church and the first that would arrive at the wedding house would obtain a bottle of whiskey for his trouble. The bride would not go to her new home for a week or more. The old people would say that she would have no luck if she went home too soon after her marriage. Neither bride nor bride-groom would go to Mass the following Sunday after their marriage. If they did so it was believed that they would have neither a son nor a daughter.
