    to Belmullet. If anyone told them the republicans might follow them and capture them all. This was the reason the 35 men were sent from Belmullet to Glenamoy to attack them and keep them back if they did come out. About twelve o'clock at night Commandant Neary and his 30 men landed at school and nine republicans captured with him from Belmulllet. They arranged to break the lock in the school door and sleep there until day break. They expected to be followed up by an armoured car, its name called the "long fellow" but this car had to go to an ambush in Boniconlin. Nerry's army did not know that this ambush was in Boniconlin or if they did they would not have come on to Glenlosara as they knew well it was useless for them to attack
