There was an old saying among the people long ago: ¶ Monday for wealth

There was an old saying among the people long ago:
    Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday no luck at all
The days of the week which are supposed to be unlucky for marriage are Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for luck.
The bride's mother put a needle in her coat for luck when she was going out to her marriage.
Some man that was not going to the marriage stole out and met the wedding party as they were going to the chapel to bring them good luck because of a woman met them she brought him bad luck.
Marriages took place in the evening in those days and it was nightfall when the married couple arrived home for the wedding. As they entered the door the bride's mother broke an oatmeal cake which she made during the day over their heads for luck.
