    Jack and his three men went to the king's castle. The king said to Jack, I shall give you three tasks, and if you perform them you shall have my daughter in marriage but if you do not you will be killed." The first task was to get a ring out of a pond of water and have it back at twelve o'clock. So Jack agreed and he called Slug-Well, who drank the pond dry. Jack had the ring back at twelve o'clock and when the king came out, "Now," he said, "You have two more tasks to do. I have four hares and I will let them go, and if you have not them back before three o'clock in the morning you will be killed" All right" said Jack. So he called up the man whom he had found minding hares in the field. He told him to catch the hares and bring them back. When the king came out he found that Jack had succeeded in the second task. "There is one more task for you to do yet," he said. "There is a concert going on in America and you
