  1. I live in the village of Lisbane, in the barony of Costello, and in the parish of Annaugh. There are twenty families in the townland. The family name most common in the district is Kelly. About half of the houses are slated and the others are thatched. There are some old people in this townland but they cannot tell Irish stories. Houses were more numerous in former times. Some times the people lived in old ruins. Some people removed from one country to another because they were poor and their fares were paid. Some of the land is good but most of it is bad.
