    Barnacarroll. One of those huts is still in existence. The clerk of the church John Curley and his mother now reside there.
    There was a small shed erected there also by the Land League where evicted people were employed making stockings. Mrs Tolan of Upper Mace remembers working in this factory.
    John Fallon of Mace was evicted out of his home for killing a hare on Xmas day. He emigrated to Canada and his descendants now occupy high positions in the law courts there. One old man Thomas Brady still living in Mace was also evicted. His home was occupied by two R.I.C. men. He got it back again. Michael Concannon still living was also one of the evicted tenmants.
    When the landlord wanted his work done he sent word to his tenants in Mace. They dared not refuse or they would be evicted. They received no pay for their work. The only food they got during the day was porridge. When the landlord was old and unable to walk he had to be carried from place to place by some of his tenants. Every
