    This is the way thatching is done in the district I live in.
    First of all the timber is put on the walls to make the roof. Then the go to to bog and cut "scraws" about four inches thick by three feet square. Then they place them on the house in matter of slates.
    The thatcher then gets sallow rods, and points them on both ends. He then places a ladder on the house and a pad made of hay to put under his knees.
    He then gets the straw. He begins at the eve of the house, and places the straw in rows over each other. Then each row is tightened with rods stuck through the "scraws". This
