- There are three (four) graveyards in this parish -- two in Belcarra and [?] in Balla. One of the graveyards in Balla is so overcrowded that very few people take the Remains of their Dead there now.In the old graveyard in Balla there is a round tower and the ruins of an old church said to be build in the seventh century. Besides this church there is also another old church which up to 20 years ago was used as a place of Worship. It is separated from the graveyard by a high wall. Unbaptized children are buried at a place called "Teampallise" near Manulla. People who were not born in the parish are often taken to their native places for burial
