  1. Long long ago there was a man living in Carrowholly and he was to go to a fair with wor calves. The night before he tied a red ribbon on the other calf's tail. In the morning he went out to bring the calves to the fair but when he went into the barn he found only but one calf. He was looking for the other and he could not see a trace of him. He then went to the fair with one calf. When he went into town he found his other calf in the street and two men selling him. When the man went down to the two men, he said that was his calf. Then one of the men said it was not and at that moment the calf and the two men disappeared. When the man went home he told his wife about the calf and the two men. When the man went to the barn to put in his other calf
